I'm not digging how it turned out, is this one better?

It's still pretty damn good nonetheless

Try 2 things - different angle on the plane (say diving down diagonally) and remove the prop blades (or just draw the oval representing the blade tips).

I like it, different angle and you may like it more? Maybe see how a Sopwith Camel turns out... hint.. hint.

A little work on the prop and you've got a winner. A simple grey oval would suffice, more than likely. Love those invasion stripes.

But the grey oval would block out too much, I'll stick to cars me thinks.

Not a solid oval, just a thin line indicating the edge of the propeller disk. Or a yellow one. It will be obvious what it is. It's worth a try, methinks, then you can go back to cars.

Actually I love how this turned out. Nice!

Don't represent the prop with a ring but rather with the wedges you see when it's spinning. I think that would fit much better with this flat style.

How about now?

I had that, it was shit.

What, how do you not like how it turned out, it's awesome.

Yep, thinner line on the oval and make sure the perspective matches - change the nose to point down so you can see the detail from the top.

Not bad, but the angles are off. The oval needs to be narrower, and it's tilting backwards a bit. It looks like the plane of the prop does not match the similar planes in the Mustang. Know what I mean? And I'm pretty sure the P-51 prop was much bigger than that. But I think you're on the right track. You might also see how it looks with nothing at all. Seriously, though, if you're happier doing cars, stick with what makes you happy.

It's those details that make me stick to cars...

Just think about the prop disk being parallel to the wings, with the center of the disk back from the tip of the prop hub and you'll have it.

Did you try interrupting them across their longitudnal axis so they look like this:

?

I'd suggest a light opaque figure 8ish thing.
Like this, but only the dark bits
Just something to connect the ring to the nose

In any case please don't stop creating - your work is awesome. Here's something to keep you inspired (maybe jet planes are easier at first).
